A 20 year veteran of Singapore’s night life scene, Roy Ng has played an undeniably essential part in shaping the local clubbing landscape today. He is currently the owner and resident DJ of Canvas, a modular space that shifts from an art gallery in the day to a full fledged bar and club in the evening.

An astute booker and promoter, Roy has brought down acts like Goldie, Detroit Techno Militia, Roy Davis Jr and DJ EZ. In addition, during his days as an owner of Home Club, one of Singapore’s earliest underground music establishment, he blessed party goers with an eclectic range of bookings - from Mykki Blanco and Cash Money, Keith Ape, Skratch Bastid to Dub Phizix and Modeselektor.

His wide ranging taste in music is reflected in his versatile DJ-ing. From down-tempo jazz, funk and R&B to disco, house, techno and drum and bass, He also specialises in live music video mixing with music spanding from the 80’s to current; Roy’s expansive knowledge of music has led him to play at clubs and parties all over Asia.

Born and raised in paris, DJ $.Kiv decided to make a change in his professional life when he moved to china in june 2013. After many years of work experience in this industry in paris, he started his collaboration with unico by mauro colagreco and became their resident dj. Playing four nights per week in unico, he always tries to bring up to people different music styles and sounds. He is well-known in shanghai for playing latin music every tuesday alongside a live band, and every saturday with live drummers for the epic electropical party: a blend of afro house, latin house and soulful house.

Ever since he was little, dj s.Kiv was always passionate about music. His friend who was a hip hop artst/singer inspired him to create his own beats using keyboard to add something special to his songs.The movie la haine by mathieu kassovitz influenced s.Kiv to get his first turntable which gave him the opportunity to add scratch

to the beats and develop his personal style. Although dj s.Kiv was born and raised in paris, martinique (caribbean) blood is running in his body, which brings a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to his music.

“ good music has no limits, no expiration date, no race or gender, it’s a vibration, energy that can be felt and heard world wide.”

Dj s.Kiv truly believes that you have to do what you love and love what you do, only then you can succeed. Because when you put your heart in your music the audience feels it in every sound and vibe, like a heart beating. “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”, that’s why he decided to travel the world following his passion, pursuing his dreams and growing as a person and a dj.

over the years he became a professional dj and gained a lot of experience traveling and playing in different countries. Vietnam, thailand, u.S.A., Morocco, tunisia, senegal, hong kong are some of the places where he has proven his dj skills and ability to read the crowd delivering the best of him while playing all kinds of music

In may 2015, thanks to his dedication and hard work, he got promoted to music manager of unico by mauro colagreco. He is in charge of the resident musicians and manages the bookings of international djs such as: fkj (french kiwi juice), gilles peterson (acid jazz records brownswood recordings), louie vega (masters at work,vega records), questlove (the roots), osunlade (yoruba records), boddhi stava, barbara tucker, shuya okino (kyoto jazz jazz massive), dj franck roger, dj maestro, les twins, brahim zaibat and many more.
