You have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS but you want to go further and build rich website pages like you see on your favorite sites. This workshop is just what you need! We will code 4 professional layouts in only 1h30 using the latest CSS techniques like flexbox and CSS grid.

In only 1h30, our instructors will teach you about layouts and then code:

• A blog post

• A result page with a sticky map like on Airbnb

• A chat with sidebar

• A profile (or analytics) dashboard.

Pre-requisites and equipment: 

• Knowledge of HTML and CSS (attending our prior landing page workshop is enough, or watching our landing page video online:)

• No need to bring your laptop, unless you want to code afterwards

• The instructor will be coding and guiding you through the build process

Chris has played a variety of roles in different industries over his 8 years in China including digital marketing, mobile games, and educational software. Wanting to be more involved in the creation process, he attended Le Wagon to learn to code. Now he works as a freelance web developer.

For too many people “coding” has an intimidating or nerdy connotation, and many people think they are not suitable to learn this important skill. However, technology is penetrating every aspect of our work and life, and coding will be a crucial skill for everyone in the 21st century. So, how can non-tech people catch up? 

The #AnyoneCanCode workshop series is designed to introduce complete beginners to technology in an accessible and engaging way. The series focuses on 3 core areas of the technology and startup world - product, design, and technology - or as we say in the tech world: product, front-end, and back-end.

Each week students will walk away with new insights into the tech world, even if they’ve never coded a line before. Our teachers, who come from the tech and startup world, have taught dozens of beginners before and are happy to help break down complex concepts into simple terms that anyone can understand.
