Welcome to the second edition of Sustainability Talks! On the 24th April we present a high-level English discussion on Sustainable Urban Development using Closed Loop Thinking & Actionable ESG.

This event invites architect and sustainability expert Sophia Slingerland, founder of Atelier Phi, a low carbon architecture and planning firm, and also founder of SHINE, a greentech watersaving sanitation startup.

Originally from Germany, Sophia founded Atelier Phi in 2009 in Switzerland and after seeing much success in Europe started operating in China in 2016 and has worked on projects in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Moganshan to name a few.

Sophia will share her ideas on urban planning where city quarters and neighbourhoods form their own closed loop, maximising the positive impact on the entire ecosystem.

This closed loop thinking in energy, food, transportation and fully dry sanitation maximises circularity and reuse of resources, whilst also rebuilding the bonds within communities which people yearn for in modern society.

Our last event saw guests learn from Aileen Wei, founder of zero-waste toiletries brand SAFONE, whilst broadening their network with ESG practitioners, sustainable entrepreneurs, and students in attendance and we are glad be facilitating this under the Sustainability Talks umbrella!

本次活动我们邀请到了建筑师兼可持续发展专家Sophia Slingerland，她是低碳建筑与规划事务所Atelier Phi和一家绿色科技节水初创公司的创始人。

Sophia来自德国，她于2009年在瑞士创立了Atelier Phi并在欧洲取得了巨大成功。2016年，Sophia来到中国开展业务，在上海、成都和莫干山等地设计项目。

Sophia将分享她的城市规划理念——让城市中的街区和社区形成自身闭环，实现人本化和生态化。这种闭环思维体现在能源、食物、交通和完全干燥的卫生设施等方面，提高了资源的循环和再利用，同时加强了社区间联系，重构了现代社会中人们的交往模式。

在我们的上一场活动中，与会的朋友们向零浪费洗护品牌SAFONE的创始人Aileen学习如何创建以ESG为核心的品牌，同时也认识了许多ESG实践者、可持续企业家。扩大可持续发展网络并增强成员间的联系正是我们举办Sustainability Talks的初衷之一。
