For the first time ever, The Shanghai EDITION is launching a multi-sensory Halloween experience allowing guests to indulge and party across the different venue spaces in the luxury establishment. Nightmare Before Halloween will encompass a world-class line up of global names to form an eclectic mix of tastemakers and music providers.

The Illustrious Blacks will be making their debut in Shanghai, the headline act of the evening, which will surely shock the senses. NYC native Sabo who has been killing at Burning Man and global festivals will also be headlining in Shanghai for the 1st time. His label continues to deliver floor-filling bombs for all DJs out there. The “IT kids” out there YETI Collective will bring their cooler than cool urban sounds.

Living legend Andrew Bull aka DJ El Toro will helm Canton Disco, a place named after the iconic 1980s club, the Studio 54 of Hong Kong. Modern day renaissance man Tiago Oudman fresh from a killer set at Garbicz will be representing Bali. If you don’t know him, he runs the best parties in Bali called Jungle and Air Festival. Shanghai local, French Native SARFAT – lead by Arthur de Villepain, the son of former French Prime Minister will be representing the Yellow Corner, leading gallery in China and greater China. Joining the lineup are local based French promoters Sound of Shanghai led by S.KIV & Kadwell alongside resident DJs of Electric Circus Fat K & MMQ taking over Roof Garden.

Last but not least, music and nightlife director of The Shanghai EDITION Donn will be on the decks as well as his co-curator Swamy. Swamy is best known as an industry innovator and his work with legendary Robot Heart, one of the world’s best festivals Wonderfruit as well as Hong Kong’s Art Basel with LACMA and UCCA.

Dj and Producer William Sabatini, aka Sabo, is a staple in the global dance music community. Heavily influenced by a multitude of cultures from around the world, Sabo’s sound holds much of his intrigue. Sabo's productions take you along a journey into sound, a sonic landscape that crosses several musical borders with mixtures of tropical poly-rhythms, warm bass frequencies, rich percussion, lush tribal vocals, and smooth organic textures. When listening you will undoubtedly find yourself resonating with his intention, imagining yourself dancing in an Amazon rainforest or on a desert plane for a Saharan sunrise. Behind the decks, his innovative approach to each DJ set makes him a consistent stand out at Festivals like Coachella, Lightening in a Bottle, Shambhala, Fusion, Symbiosis, Desert Hearts, Further Future, and Burning Man's Robot Heart bus. As a label boss, he is known for his dynamic vision - heading up his imprint label “Sol*Selectas” which is successfully re-defining a new vein of dance music. It was the Top 10 Best Selling Deep House label on Beatport for 2016, with almost every release breaking into the Top 10 charts of their respective genres. The label captures a wide array of sounds, enlisting up and coming underground producers from all over the globe, as well as prominent well known producers in the industry, focusing the sound on deep spiritual dance music, guiding its listeners into the future realm with positive intention.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy not far away, there lived two kings. Each was the ruler of his own deliciously glorious planet. The first king, Manchildblack, was well known throughout the cosmos for his ethereal vocals, celestial sonics and earthy musical messages. The other king, Monstah Black, was a star in the solar system for his gravity defying performances, gender bending fashions and spacey disposition. One magical night, an inexplicable ultramagnetic pull forced the two planets to collide. A technicolored explosion occurred, turning night into day, with a feast of aural and visual delights. It was then that the universe was changed forever. Manchildblack and Monstah Black united and became The Illustrious Blacks.

With inspiration from other extra terrestrials like Prince, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Boy George and George Clinton, The Illustrious Blacks have arrived with a mission to fuse futuristic funk, hypnotic house and cosmic pop into pulsating positivity for the planet. The real life married couple are not only co-pilots on their artistic voyage, but are united in their fantastical journey through life.

In 2017, The Illustrious Blacks released their highly anticipated debut EP, NeoAfroFuturisticPsychedelicSurrealisticHippy, on Concierge Records. The EP features the high energy single "Blast Off," the seductive "Red Light," the thought provoking "Delusions of Grandeur" and the anthemic "Black Like Jesus." In the same year, the dynamic duo also found time to work with producer Nickodemus on a remake of the 90s dance floor classic "Funk That!," which spawned a popular music video.

The acclaimed duo found even more praise for their epic live shows, which fuse music, dance, theater & fashion as the ingredients to expand minds, shake bootys and save the world one beat at a time. Toward the end of summer 2017, The Illustrious Blacks landed their electrifying live show, Hyperbolic, for a three month residency at the legendary Joe's Pub at The Public Theater.

If their music and live shows are meant to elevate you into the stratosphere, then The Illustrious Blacks radio show, "On Air w/The Blacks," is an opportunity to experience their inner space. The entertaining and often hilarious weekly series invites listeners onto the mothership of the charismatic couple, where they discuss the latest happenings in global pop culture on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York.

Individually, Monstah Black and Manchildblack illuminate the galaxy with equal magnitude. Together, as The Illustrious Blacks, they have combined their powers and metamorphosed into supernovas, blazing through the Milky Way like a comet, with their own unique brand of cosmic freak nobility.

Tiago's uniquely colourful sets have caught the attention of Berlin’s underground, and have brought him toiconic venues such as TAPE, Ritte Butzke, Wilde Renate, BAR 25, Suicide Circus, Kater Holzig and residencies atBerlin’s Golden Gate. Tiago has also frequently played at Europe’s mother festival Fusion, where his knowledgein architecture played a part in designing stages and structures with the Bachsteltzen crew. Along with his fellowcollaborator Ricardo Ferreira, they where out of the select few chosen for the legendary closing party of BAR 25.Tiago continued on tour his tailored tunes and help design stages for some of Australia’s biggest independentmusic festivals such as Subsonic, and the 2012 Eclipse festival in far north Queensland.
Tiago also helps run a stage at Garbicz Festival where he is one of the residents year after year playingalongside people like Seth Troxler, Ricardo Villalobos, and many more.
In the last 5 years Tiago’s passion for music and stage design has brought him down to Bali, where he is one ofthe founding members of Air Festival, a three day festival on the beautiful Gili Air island. Along with a fewother collaborators they have kick started the techno scene in Bali with Air Festival and the Basement Loveparties, having welcomed DJs such as Acid Pauli, Fred P, Steve Bug, Dj Seinfeld, Massimiliano Pagliara, ATA,Thugfucker and many others.

Before to move to China, the two had worked with each other on assorted projects over the past 10 years in Paris. Djing in clubs and festivals they opened and toured with numerous french hip hop artists such as MAITRE GIMS (SEXION D’ASSAULT), BOOBA, ROHFF …

Most traveled DJs, they rocked crowd in U.S.A, Caribbean Island, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal until they decided to settle in Shanghai and get residencies as music directors and DJ. New challenges and a brand new world to explore organizing parties in Thailande, Vietnam, Bali, and Hong Kong.

Together they worked with world-famous DJ/producers as YOUNG GURU, QUESTLOVE, DJ CUT KILLER, DJ PONE, FKJ, LES TWINS and many more

In 2015, they created SOVND OF SHΛNGHΛI®, a music brand that connects Sounds, Urban Lifestyle, Fashion, and Art. It is represented by a crew of several creative people with common interest and passion: DJAZZ, ANA COUTURE and DJ MONCYR. They are dedicated to convey the mix of world hip hop movement and urban culture to Shanghai audience.

Swamy will play host and DJ. Swamy is creative visionary and thought leader that has helped shape cultural zeitgeist through art, music, food, wellness, thought leadership and community building. He's best known for his involvement with the legendary Robot Heart, award winning Wonderfruit and critically acclaimed Future Future. He is highly sought after globally for his creative, curation and experience design ability. He's a tastemaker that has influenced many. Always pushing boundaries, his work defies definition.

Swamy has worked with A-listers from tech leader Eric Schmidt, 3 Star Michelin Chef Gaggan, Grammy Winner Skrillex to award winning hotels like The Upper House, NASDAQ listed tech behemoth Netease and innovative casino group Melco Crown, leading galleries like LACMA and UCCA to name but a few. Musically over the past twenty years, he's worked the world's best talent which include Hot Chip Jamie Jones, Apparat, Nicolas Jaar, Lianne La Havas and Bebel Gilberto.
