With the world’s second-largest film market and having shows with the highest amount of viewers on earth, one wouldn’t be mistaken for thinking it’s a good time to work as a scriptwriter in China. However, is it a “hero’s journey” when speaking about those who work in story writing for Chinese films and TV series? What is the nature of the relationship between producers and scriptwriters? Are there specific cultural sensibilities that one should adhere to in scriptwriting in order to meet the audience’s expectations?

For its first public recording Middle Earth- China’s cultural industry podcast organizes a panel discussion to answer those questions with three scriptwriters. It will be held Thursday the 21th February at 7pm in Beijing at The Slab.

The event will be held in English and there will be no Chinese translation (our apologies, buget issue !).
